Local Sourcing Challenges and SOLUTIONS - Panel Discussion and Workshop

Local Sourcing is a HOT TOPIC and there are real challenges that need to be addressed.

Covid-19 has shown us that there are significant challenges with the global supply chain. In an effort to reduce negative impacts in the future, many companies have chosen to re-shore as many of their critical components as possible, but this process has been more challenging than expected for most of them. We will address both sides of the problem during this panel discussion and workshop.

Our panel discussion will include purchasing leaders from manufacturers, suppliers (machine shops), and shipping providers.

  • Purchasing agents will share the common challenges they face while working to find local suppliers.
  • Suppliers will share the roadblocks they face in their journey to be selected as a vendor of choice.
  • Shipping and logistics leaders will share how focusing on the lowest cost may cost you more in the long run

The educational panel discussion will be from 9:00 – 12:00 and the pitch session will be from 12:30 – 3:00

Lunch will be provided and companies who plan to pitch to the buyer panel. Suppliers will have 7 minutes to share their products and company information. The buyers will ask questions and offer suggestions on how they can improve their pitch
